In addition, annual fees are charged for camping and watercraft stickers.
Q: I understand that Lake Panorama is the largest private lake in Iowa. What is the largest lake overall in the state, regardless of ownership?
A: The largest lake in Iowa is Lake Red Rock, also referred to as the Red Rock Reservoir. It is located 41 miles southeast of Des Moines. The dam was completed in 1969 as a flood control project by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. It was named after one of the lost towns under the reservoir, Red Rock.
