Name: Abby
Owners: Alan and Martha Matthews
Age: Senior kitty
Abby is truly a Cove Cat, living in Andrews Cove. Alan and Martha were pretty much done with broken hearts from losing pets. As much as Martha loved animals, she even agreed no more. Their youngest kitten was approaching senior status when her elderly cousin contacted her, asking if she could take one of her kitties. They said sure and changed the kitten’s name to Abby. She is now Alan’s lap cat. Now a senior, she enjoys just hanging out with her family on Andrews Cove, being a Cove Cat.

Names: Lucy and Sadie
Ages: Sadie (pictured on the chair) is 8 years old. Lucy’s age is unknown.
Owners: Scott and Ellen Betzer. Both were taken in as stray kittens.
Sadie and Lucy love lounging around on the deck during the day and are great hunters by night. Because they were strays, they like to wander and have people in the neighborhood feed and love on them. Everyone in the neighborhood knows them. They love following Ellen when she goes on her walks with her dog, which Ellen finds kind of embarrassing at times. She has had up to four cats trailing her on her walks.

Name: Salvador, or “Sali” for short
Owner: Roberta Brink
Sali showed up in the neighborhood last summer. He was overweight, so Roberta assumed he had a home, even though he was elusive and fearful of people. When the weather got cold, she made sure he had food and water and a warm place to stay. Eventually, he decided that Roberta was his person and now comes running whenever she goes outside. He has his own heated house but still prefers the shed — except when it is bitterly cold outside. He does not want to come inside. Roberta scanned him, and he does have a chip, but no one ever registered him. Roberta is perfectly happy letting her “Chunky Monkey” live his best life with her!
