The 57th annual meeting of the Lake Panorama Association is Saturday, May 9, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Lake Panorama National Resort, 5071 Clover Ridge Road. Each year, the LPA annual meeting provides a formal statement of the association’s financial position, plus reports on activities during the past year and plans for the coming year.

Reports will be given by David Finneseth, LPA board president; Dennis Flanery, LPA board treasurer; and John Rutledge, LPA general manager.

An official announcement of the meeting will be sent to all LPA members April 10. Included in this mailing will be a ballot plus a numbered envelope in which to return the ballot. Ballots must be returned in the numbered envelopes to ensure ballot authenticity. If an envelope is lost, contact the LPA office for a replacement.

On the ballot this year are two candidates running for two seats on the LPA board of directors. Sue Thompson is completing her first three-year term on the board and is running for a second term. Terry Gebard has filed papers with the LPA and is running for a first term on the board.

Members are asked to deliver or mail their completed ballot in the numbered envelope to the LPA office before Friday, May 8. This allows the majority of the ballots to be counted in advance of the annual meeting. Ballots also can be brought to the annual meeting.

LPA bylaws require each board candidate to provide a 100-word statement. This year’s candidate statements are printed here in alphabetical order. In mid-April, additional information provided by each candidate will be distributed to those signed up to receive official LPA emails.

Terry Gebard

“My wife, Kersten, and I have been members of Lake Panorama since 2008. We have three daughters and four grandchildren (fifth due in April) who all enjoy spending time at Lake Panorama. In fact, many of our fondest family memories are made at the lake. Recently retired, I practiced as an architect for 38 years, serving on my firm’s board of director’s for 25 years. As an architect, I have enjoyed serving on the LPA Building Codes Committee, currently in my second term. My family and I have enjoyed all of Lake Panorama’s amenities for the last 18 years, and I would be proud to serve the community that has been so wonderful to my family.”

“My husband, Dave, and I have enjoyed living on Lake Panorama since 2004. We began as “weekenders” in a Sunset Pines condominium and became full time residents in 2013, purchasing our retirement home in Burchfield Cove. I currently serve as LPA board vice-president and a member of the Land Sales Committee. I am most proud of the organization’s retention of exceptional leadership and dedicated staff that serve our community. Prior to retirement, my career spanned 45-plus years in nursing and healthcare administration in Fort Dodge and Des Moines. I am grateful for your support in my bid for re-election.”
