Another hole-in-one at the Panorama West golf course was scored June 25. During Tuesday evening men’s league play, Chip Hansen made a hole-in-one on the ninth hole, using his 5-wood for the 214-yard shot from the par-3 tees. Witnesses were his father, Lyle Hansen, plus Jerry Armstrong and Tim Rickert.

“This was my first hole-in-one after quite a few close ones through the years, but certainly worth the wait,” Hansen says. “From the start, the ball was on target with the pin. It landed softly on the fringe, rolled toward the pin and disappeared. I was hopeful but didn’t fully believe it until we got to the green.”

This isn’t the first ace for the Hansen family. Chip’s mother, Paula, has had three hole-in-ones at Panorama West. His sister, Carrie, got one at the Audubon Golf and Country Club.

“We’re a competitive family, and I’m glad to finally get one. Now only my dad, Lyle, is chasing his first one,” Chip says.

Each year, individuals who achieve a hole-in-one at Panorama West have their names added to a sign in the pro shop and receive a handmade plaque in recognition of their achievement.
