Throughout 2024, more than $88,000 was raised to support Priority 1 projects identified in the LPN Golf Course Master Plan. Those projects include expanding forward tee boxes, leveling and resodding main tee boxes, removing all railroad ties, updates to the driving range and new tee signs and ball washers.

Sod was installed on the forward tee box on the eighth hole at Lake Panorama National. It’s expected the newly sodded tee boxes will be ready for play sometime in May.
The four-person best-shot tournament is open to the first 36 teams registered. Check-in begins at 12:30 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Mulligans will be sold at check-in, and a two-putt limit per hole used. Flights will be based on the number of teams registered, with three places in each flight earning pro shop gift cards.
There are three registration levels. A Hole-in-One donation of $1,000 will include a tee box sponsor sign, plus golf, carts and lunch for a foursome. A Team Sponsor donation of $500 will cover golf, carts and lunch for a foursome. Donors at these two levels will be recognized on a program flyer and receive tax receipts for their donations.
Individuals can register for the tournament at a cost of $125, which covers golf, cart and lunch. Individuals can include on their registration form the names of other people they want to play with or be matched with others not currently on a team.
Friends of Lake Panorama is partnering with the LPN Resort on the golf tournament and the overall fundraising effort. All contributions are tax-deductible, and donors receive a letter of thanks that serves as a receipt. Donations can be made in memory or recognition of others.

Advance registration and payment are required for the golf tournament.
Links to registration forms can be found on the LPN Resort online calendar. Payment options are to write a check payable to Friends of Lake Panorama and send to P.O. Box 488, Panora, IA 50216; via Venmo @Panorama-Friends; or by credit card at friendsoflakepanorama.org. If using this option, include an extra $15 for every $500 to cover processing fees.
Registration also can be done using printed forms, which are available in the LPN pro shop. Forms can be completed and given to any member of the pro shop staff, along with a check made payable to Friends of Lake Panorama.
The October 2024 fundraising golf tournament was held in conjunction with the first 20 Men Who Can Cook event. For 2025, this fundraiser where volunteer chefs prepare food dishes for guests to sample, will be held Sunday, Oct. 19.
Funds raised in 2024 paid for work on four forward tee boxes last fall, with the seventh hole completed. Sodding on the remaining three tees was completed this March. The LPN staff and board are discussing possible fall 2025 projects. More details will be available later this year.
When the LPN capital campaign is complete, donors of $500 or more will be recognized on a display wall in the Spikes snack shop, featuring names and sponsorship levels. Donors currently are recognized on the LPN Resort and Friends websites.
Questions about the tournament can be directed to Rob Riggins at rriggins@lakepanorama.org or 641-755-2024.
